The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting quality, safety, security and customs compliance across the business, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and recognised standards.
As a Customs & Compliance Specialist (Pharma) you will report in to the Shipping & Compliance Manager on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas:
- Support in the customs clearance, via CDS, of a mixture of air, sea, and road freight import & export shipments of medical and pharma products travelling worldwide.
- Supporting the Shipping & Compliance Manager with our various accreditation such as AEO, ISO 9001 and GDP procedures.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of company policies and procedures.
- Assisting with customs compliance, regulatory approvals and Customs Intermediary requirements.
- Supporting the management of business and cargo insurance policies, schedules and compliance requirements.
- Assisting with both internal and external audits.
- Supporting compliance with regulatory bodies including HMRC, CAA, DfT, ISO and GDP requirements.
The successful candidate will possess strong organisational and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to compliance and quality management. The ideal Customs & Compliance Specialist (Pharma) will have the following skills and experience:
- 2+ year's experience in customs and/or compliance in a pharma, life-sciences, medical and freight / shipping role.
- Experience of using CDS or CHIEF software for customs entries.
- Previous experience within compliance, quality assurance, pharmaceutical logistics, customs or a regulated environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of GDP, ISO 9001, AEO or advanced customs compliance would be advantageous.
- Commutable to Leicestershire on a hybrid basis (3x days per week).
- Ability to conduct hybrid working.
