We are actively looking to engage shipping, freight and road transport professionals with a passion for air freight forwarding for a new role as an Air Freight Forwarder on a weekend shift in Derby. The role is scheduled across Friday, Saturday and Sunday (10-12 hour shifts) with the Saturday and Sunday being worked remotely.
Client Details: My client is a market-leader in the freight & shipping industry and has offices based across the world (in the UK, US, Iberia, Germany and the Far-East). You will be joining a fast-paced environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, AOG, automotive retail & FMCG based customers. My client focuses on searching air freight, sea freight & road freight solutions, which are both cost effective & time sensitive.
Job Description: As an Air Freight Forwarder (Weekends) you will report to the Air Freight Operations Manager on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas:
- Manage air & road freight import and export bookings including pricing, quotations, end-to-end shipping and customs documentation.
- Responsible for MAWB and HAWB documentation.
- Nominating carriers, hauliers, shipping lines, airlines and GSA in-line with rates, OTIF value and customer requirements in line with a variety of INCOTerms.
- Handling customs entries and arranging billings for VAT/Duties.
- Raise additional customs documentation to ensure the freight can move from country to country (ISF, COO, clearance documentation etc).
- Customer rate analysis on route guidance, whilst monitoring and securing allocations and operation efficiency.
- Develop and build relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to clients with a knowledge of the clients' business requirements.
You will operate across Friday, Saturday and Sunday on a 10-12 hour shift pattern, with only the Friday being office based and the weekend worked remotely.
The Ideal Candidate: The successful candidate will have an expansive background in the air freight forwarding industry. The ideal Air Freight Forwarder (Weekends) will have the following skills and experience:
- 3+ years' experience in freight forwarding in air freight.
- Experience of pricing, quoting and operating air freight shipments.
- Knowledge of airway bills is highly desirable (AWB / MAWB / HAWB).
- Excellent customer service experience.
- Commutable to Derby one day per week.
- The ability to operate 3 days per week across Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
