We are actively looking to engage shipping, freight and European road transport professionals with a passion for freight forwarding for a new role as a Road Freight Forwarder in Castle Donington, Derbyshire. My client is an SME freight forwarding business, with huge ambitions for growth in the freight & shipping industry. You will be joining a fast-paced environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, retail & FMCG based customers. My client focuses on searching air freight, sea freight & road freight solutions, which are both cost-effective & solution driven.
Job Description
- Managing the pricing, quoting, booking and file monitoring of freight across import & export road freight to and from the EU and Turkey.
- Responsible for preparing road freight pricing & customer quotations - informing about the freight prices, port charges, cost of special documents, insurance prices as well as prices for handling the goods.
- Organising road transport through third party transit means throughout Europe and Turkey.
- Providing appropriate transportation means with adequate load capacity and regulations around WTD and VOSA regulations.
- Handling customs entries (EUR1's / ATR1's) and arranging billings for VAT/Duties.
- Ensuring, booking and conducting customs clearance.
The Ideal Candidate
- The successful candidate will have an expansive background in the road freight forwarding industry.
- 2+ years' experience in road freight forwarding, transport planning.
- A graduate with a desire to join the logistics & freight industry would also be strongly considered.
- Experience of pricing, quotation and planning customer deliveries across road freight in the UK and EU.
- Desirable experience of customs compliance (not essential).
- Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous.
- Commutable to Castle Donington, Derbyshire.
