We are actively looking to engage a financial professional with a passion for account payable processing for a new role as a Freight Operations Assistant (Part-time) in Castle Donington in Derbyshire!
Client Details: My client is a market-leader in the shipping industry and has offices based across the world (in Germany, Spain, USA & more recently in the Far East). You will be joining a fast-paced environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, retail & FMCG based customers. My client focuses on searching air freight, sea freight & road freight solutions, which are both cost effective & time sensitive. This role is for between 20-25 hours per week.
Job Description: As a Freight Operations Assistant (Part-time) you will report to the Operations Manager on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas:
- Working with internal stakeholders within the operational shipping team to resolve internal queries surrounding costings, quotations & pricing queries.
- Providing monthly administrative support to operational, freight & finance team and wider business.
- Processing supplier invoices & managing payment runs.
- Control of supplier freight invoices and overhead invoices to our in-house operating and financial systems.
- Resolving supplier invoice disputes via active management and discussion.
- Manual payment runs within GBP and FX currency (such as USD, EUR, etc.).
- Daily management of Direct Debit reporting and payment schedules.
- Management and accountability for the control of the accounts payable system across numerous sites and various countries.
The Ideal Candidate: The successful candidate will have an expansive background in account payable processing and financial administration. The ideal Freight Operations Assistant (Part-time) will have the following skills and experience:
- 2+ years' experience in either a freight, logistics or finance role.
- Experience with high volume invoice processing, payment forecasting and bank transaction processing.
- Administration, freight and/or customer service knowledge.
- Commutable to Castle Donington in Derbyshire for 20-25 hours per week.
