We are actively looking to engage air, sea and road freight professionals with a passion for freight forwarding and aviation shipping for a new role as an Air Freight Supervisor at Manchester Airport in Wythenshawe! The role is based at Manchester Airport on a hybrid basis (3 days per week).
My client is a market-leader in the shipping industry and has offices based across the world (in Germany, Spain, USA & more recently in the Far East). You will be joining a fast-paced environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, retail & FMCG based customers. My client focuses on searching air freight, AOG, sea freight & road freight solutions, which are both cost effective & time sensitive.
As an Air Freight Supervisor you will report to the Freight Branch Manager on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas for responsibility across the Wythenshawe office in Manchester:
- Manage air freight import and export bookings including pricing, quotations, end-to-end shipping and customs documentation.
- Documents of Operations and transportation (booking, airway bills and loading confirmation).
- Nominating carriers, airlines and GSA in-line with rates, OTIF value and customer requirements in line with a variety of INCOTerms.
- Raise additional customs documentation to ensure the freight can move from country to country (ISF, COO, clearance documentation etc).
- Customer rate analysis on route guidance, whilst monitoring and securing allocations and operation efficiency.
- Develop and build relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to clients with a knowledge of the clients' business requirements.
The successful candidate will have an expansive background in freight forwarding across both import and export. The ideal Air Freight Supervisor will have the following skills and experience:
- 3+ years' experience in freight forwarding in either air, sea or road freight forwarding.
- Experience of pricing, quotation and planning customer deliveries across air & road freight.
- Desirable experience of customs compliance.
- Excellent customer service experience.
- Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous.
- Commutable to Wythenshawe, Manchester on a hybrid basis (3 days per week).
£40,000-£45,000 Annual bonus of circa 10%-15% 33 days annual leave Comprehensive company benefits account. Large opportunities to progress knowledge and job banding.
