We are actively looking to engage shipping, freight and road transport professionals with a passion for air freight forwarding for a new role as an Air Freight Forwarder on a weekend shift in Derby. The role is scheduled across Friday, Saturday and Sunday (10-12 hour shifts) with the Saturday and Sunday being worked remotely. My client is a market-leader in the freight & shipping industry and has offices based across the world (in the UK, US, Iberia, Germany and the Far-East). You will be joining a fast-paced environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, AOG, automotive retail & FMCG based customers. My client focuses on searching air freight, sea freight & road freight solutions, which are both cost effective & time sensitive.

As an Air Freight Forwarder (Weekends) you will report to the Air Freight Operations Manager on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas:

  • Manage air & road freight import and export bookings including pricing, quotations, end-to-end shipping and customs documentation.
  • Responsible for MAWB and HAWB documentation.
  • Nominating carriers, hauliers, shipping lines, airlines and GSA in-line with rates, OTIF value and customer requirements in line with a variety of INCOTerms.
  • Handling customs entries and arranging billings for VAT/Duties.
  • Raise additional customs documentation to ensure the freight can move from country to country (ISF, COO, clearance documentation etc).
  • Customer rate analysis on route guidance, whilst monitoring and securing allocations and operation efficiency.
  • Develop and build relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to clients with a knowledge of the clients' business requirements.

The successful candidate will have an expansive background in the air freight forwarding industry. The ideal Air Freight Forwarder (Weekends) will have the following skills and experience:

  • 3+ years' experience in freight forwarding in air freight.
  • Experience of pricing, quoting and operating air freight shipments.
  • Knowledge of airway bills is highly desirable (AWB / MAWB / HAWB).
  • Commutable to Derby one day per week.
  • The ability to operate 3 days per week across Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
