Training will be provided.The candidate will have to pass a very basic test.The test involves memorising a string of questions for the homeowner.(only two or three in total)This shows me you have some willingness and attentiveness for the role.Qualities that would help include...The willingness to endure the 'no thankyou-(s)' from the homeowner for a while, even all afternoon.Sometimes a new customer is found on the first door, and sometimes none are found at all.No rhyme or reason for it.The ability to find the stamina and resolve when luck has apparently gone.The discipline to take down the right information when a customer is interested.Some skill and tact when it comes to dealing with strangers.Staying in a state of reasonable appearance and mood as the afternoon progresses.Remembering that ID or company flyers are a legal requirement to 'knock the doors'.Sometimes there is a flurry of new business, typically 1-5 new customers in an afternoon is the norm.Expectation will sit at around 1-3 new customers per 3 hours worked.The job is best undertaken late morning or late afternoon.
