An HGV & Plant Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, servicing, and repairing heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and specialist plant machinery used across vegetation management, arboriculture, civils, and environmental projects. This role ensures that all fleet and equipment remain safe, compliant, and operational, supporting teams working across highways, infrastructure, and land management sites.

  • Service, maintain, and repair HGVs, trailers, and plant equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
  • Prepare vehicles and machinery for DVSA inspections and compliance
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and safety inspections
  • Respond to breakdowns on-site or roadside when required
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records
