Optec Services is a well‑established electrical, HVAC and renewables contractor situated on Westcott Venture Park. Our main client is the UK’s leading garden building company; we also supply and install solar and PV for the domestic market. We are pleased to be recruiting an Air Conditioning Engineer to join our growing team, working across domestic‑style and light commercial air conditioning projects.
The successful candidate will become a key part of our installation and maintenance team, supporting a long‑term garden building client installing standard split AC systems, alongside service and maintenance of existing assets and occasional commercial AC works for our facilities management clients. This role is suited to an engineer who is F‑Gas qualified, has a solid foundation in air conditioning and is keen to develop their skills within a supportive and growing business.
Scope- Carry out installation and commissioning of standard split air conditioning systems
- Undertake planned servicing and maintenance of existing air conditioning assets
- Fault finding and minor reactive works where required
- Support occasional commercial air conditioning works for facilities management clients
- Travel to sites across the UK as required
- Occasional overnight stays (hotels and food fully paid for by the company)
- Work on sites alongside company electricians on garden building installations (not all lone working)
- Provide a professional and customer‑focused service on site
- Complete job sheets and basic reporting accurately using our mobile job management system
- Carry out any additional duties as directed by the Line Manager

- City & Guilds 2079 F‑Gas CAT1 ODS Regulations Qualification
- Some hands‑on experience installing and/or servicing split air conditioning systems
- willingness to travel and stay away from home when required
- Electrical awareness and basic fault‑finding ability
- Ability to manage workload with guidance and support
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
- Must hold a valid full UK driving licence
- Experience working on domestic‑style or light commercial AC systems
- Previous service and maintenance experience
- Familiarity with job sheets or mobile reporting systems
- Health & Safety awareness
- Interest in developing broader mechanical or electrical skills
- Full‑time, permanent position – Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
- ÂŁ34,000 basic salary per annum
- ÂŁ300 per month performance bonus (ÂŁ3,600 per year)
- Company vehicle and tools provided (business use only)
