Role Overview:
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects for our renewable energy installations. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. You will also be responsible for providing technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and liaising with clients, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead civil engineering design for renewable energy infrastructure projects, including wind farms, solar power plants, and other clean energy solutions.
- Oversee and manage the civil engineering aspects of project development from initial feasibility through to construction and commissioning.
- Conduct site assessments, geotechnical investigations, and environmental studies to inform design and construction strategies.
- Provide technical guidance on the selection of materials, structures, and construction methods.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams (structural, electrical, mechanical, and environmental engineers) to optimize project performance and efficiency.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, providing training and fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
- Interface with clients, contractors, and regulators to ensure smooth project delivery and resolution of technical issues.
- Lead the preparation of technical reports, project documentation, and cost estimates.
- Contribute to project planning, risk management, and decision-making processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., ICE, IStructE).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, ideally with a focus on renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in the design, construction, and management of civil engineering projects, including foundations, roads, drainage systems, and site development.
- Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies (wind, solar, etc.) and their specific civil engineering requirements.
- Excellent technical problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex engineering challenges.
- Experience with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
