Our client is a multifaceted renewable energy platform operating across the UK and Europe. Established in 2009, they integrate development, investment, asset management, and operations & maintenance services under one umbrella, covering the full lifecycle of renewable energy assets such as solar, wind, and battery storage.
The Senior Authorised Person (SAP) will be responsible for attending customer sites to oversee and manage High Voltage (HV) operations on utility-scale, ground-mounted solar PV assets across the UK. Acting in conjunction with the Control Engineer, the SAP will serve as the primary authority for switching, isolation, and the issuance of safety documentation, ensuring the safe operation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of HV systems. The role also involves undertaking both High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) maintenance activities across the company portfolio, including the use, testing, and calibration of solar PV instruments.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct routine and corrective maintenance, testing, and repairs on utility-scale solar PV systems.

Lead HV maintenance activities, including switching, fault response, and emergency operations.

Plan and carry out HV/LV preventative maintenance in line with the annual PPM schedule.

Supervise and coordinate third-party contractors, ensuring compliance with H&S regulations.

Issue safety documentation (Permit to Work, Limitation of Access, Sanction to Test).

Liaise with DNOs, clients, and other stakeholders as required.

Maintain accurate, auditable electrical testing records.

Support fault-finding and performance optimisation activities.

Ensure compliance with UK electrical standards, legislation, and company policies, including GDPR and data protection requirements.
Required Qualifications:

At least 5 yearsβ experience working with High Voltage (HV) systems, ideally in renewable energy or utility-scale solar.

Recognised SAP authorisation from a UK DNO or equivalent UK-accredited training.

Strong technical expertise in HV protection systems, transformers, switchgear, and grid compliance.

A relevant qualification β Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or similar).

Excellent knowledge of UK electrical safety regulations and best practice standards.

A full UK driving licence and the willingness to travel to sites nationwide.
Desirable Skills:
