My client is a leading UK energy and services company, actively scaling its low-carbon and renewable energy portfolio. With a strong focus on decarbonisation, they work across the energy value chain to deliver smarter, cleaner solutions to businesses and infrastructure customers. As part of ongoing expansion, they’re looking to hire a Senior Renewable PPA Originator to lead the origination and negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with renewable developers, generators, and corporate offtakers.
This is a senior-level, commercially focused role where the successful candidate will lead on structuring and closing PPAs for utility-scale wind, solar, battery storage, and hybrid energy projects. They’ll work directly with developers, funds, large corporates, and internal stakeholders to deliver bankable agreements that support project viability and long-term business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Originate and negotiate long-term PPAs with developers, IPPs, and corporate energy buyers
- Structure a range of PPA types including fixed, floating, baseload, sleeved, and virtual
- Manage transactions end-to-end—from origination through to commercial close and handover
- Build strong relationships across the renewables sector, including developers and offtakers
- Collaborate with internal teams (trading, legal, risk, finance) to align deal terms with business requirements
- Track UK market trends, policy changes (CfD, REMA), and competitor activity
- Support pricing model development and contribute to new commercial offerings
- Represent the company at industry events and forums
Essential:
- 5+ years' experience in energy trading, origination, or renewable PPA structuring
- A demonstrable track record of closing PPAs in the UK or European markets
- Strong commercial awareness, with experience in pricing, risk management, and route-to-market structures
- Solid understanding of UK power markets, CfD frameworks, and regulation
