TGRC has partnered with a fast-growing clean technology company developing next-generation materials that enable a more sustainable and resilient energy future. The company is pioneering advanced materials that replace expensive and scarce elements with high-performance, earth-abundant alternatives. Their innovations are helping accelerate the global energy transition, with applications across clean energy, industrial manufacturing, and advanced electronics.
The Role:
- Design, synthesize, and optimize non-precious metal nanomaterial catalysts, particularly non-PGM systems based on earth-abundant metals or metal alloys.
- Develop and execute wet-chemistry synthesis methods and solution-phase catalyst protocols.
- Design catalyst compositions and electrode architectures for use in advanced electrochemical devices.
- Conduct research and testing related to CO2/CO reduction, chlor-alkali analogue reactions, or flow-battery redox couples.
- Perform electrochemical characterization using three-electrode systems, including catalyst kinetics analysis and mass-transport evaluation.
- Apply catalysts as coated layers on membranes, gas diffusion electrodes (GDE), and porous transport layers (PTL).
- Carry out benchmarking experiments in three-electrode and full-cell electrolysis or redox cell configurations.
- Assess catalyst durability through stress-testing and long-term stability assessments.
- Use kinetic modelling and diffusion analysis to interpret catalyst and electrode performance in flow or membrane electrochemical cells.
