The Role
We are seeking a hands-on Electrochemical Lab Technician to support the development of advanced materials and components for electrolysis systems. This is a high-impact, practical role in a fast-paced lab environment, offering significant opportunities for learning, contribution, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain electrochemical equipment (potentiostats, electrochemical cells, electrolyser systems)
- Fabricate catalyst-coated membranes (CCMs) and coated substrates (CCSs) for electrolysers
- Assemble MEAs and integrate them into electrolysis systems for performance testing
- Conduct electrochemical characterization (cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, chronoamperometry)
- Design and modify experimental setups for electrolysers, fuel cells, and related systems
- Formulate catalyst inks and apply coatings using advanced deposition techniques (e.g., spray, slot-die, decal transfer)
- Analyze test data to optimize performance, efficiency, and durability
- Support the scale-up of electrochemical processes for commercial deployment
- Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment, ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Track and manage lab inventory and consumables
- Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain lab equipment to ensure reliable results
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share insights and advance project goals
About You

Essential Skills & Experience
- MSc in Electrochemistry, Electrochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science (exceptional BSc candidates with strong experience also considered)
- Practical experience in electrochemical testing and lab equipment operation
- Familiarity with coating techniques (e.g., spray, slot-die, decal)
- Experience assembling and testing electrochemical cells or fuel cell stacks (advantageous)
- Exposure to industrial or pilot-scale systems (desirable)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Collaborative mindset and adaptability to a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
