Founded in 2017, the company develops, owns, and operates grid-scale battery storage projects across the United Kingdom. Its focus is on enabling a flexible and resilient electricity system by storing renewable energy when it is abundant and releasing it during times of high demand.
We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Manager with proven experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and procurement. The successful candidate will oversee the full lifecycle of BESS construction projects, from planning and procurement to execution, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Project Management
- Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of BESS construction projects.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors, subcontractors, and site teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Monitor progress, resolve issues, and report project status to stakeholders.
- Manage procurement of equipment, materials, and services for BESS projects.
- Negotiate contracts, review supplier proposals, and manage vendor relationships.
- Ensure timely delivery of critical components (batteries, inverters, balance of plant).
- Optimize cost efficiency while maintaining technical quality and reliability.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Manage permitting, approvals, and compliance with local regulations.
- Track project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
- Oversee change orders, claims, and contractual obligations.
- Support project closeout, including handover documentation and lessons learned.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 5β8 years of experience in construction project management, with at least 3 years in BESS, renewable energy, or power infrastructure projects.
- Strong procurement and contract management background.
- Proven ability to manage EPC contractors and large-scale energy projects.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and permitting processes.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
