TGRC is partnered with a rapidly growing clean energy company delivering innovative temporary power solutions through a fleet of mobile battery storage systems across the UK. With continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, the business is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join its UK Service team. This is an opportunity to play a hands-on role in commissioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting battery energy storage systems while supporting the transition towards cleaner temporary power solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Commission and decommission mobile battery energy storage systems across customer sites.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure battery systems remain safe, reliable, and operational.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, technical, and system-related faults in the field.
- Conduct inspections and support the installation and deployment of battery systems.
- Provide on-site technical support to customers across construction sites, infrastructure projects, events, and other locations.
- Work closely with Operations and Commercial teams to ensure equipment availability and a high level of customer service.
- Travel regularly to customer and project sites across the UK.
- Participate in an on-call rotation, providing technical support when required.
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance, commissioning, troubleshooting, and field service processes.
Key Requirements
- 3+ years' experience in field service, maintenance, commissioning, electrical engineering, or a similar technical role.
- Experience working with electrical installations, energy systems, BESS, generators, EV charging infrastructure, construction site power, or similar technical environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose technical issues independently.
- Comfortable working independently in the field while collaborating closely with wider teams.
- Based in or near Bristol, with willingness to travel regularly throughout the UK.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Fluent English.
- Strong safety awareness and a practical, hands-on approach to technical work.
