Our client, a growing renewable energy business, is looking for an experienced HSEQ & Compliance Manager to take ownership of health, safety, governance and regulatory compliance across the organisation. This is a high-impact role suited to someone who enjoys working at the intersection of legal, operational and strategic risk management.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the first point of contact for legal, contractual, compliance and H&S queries
- Managing relationships with outsourced legal counsel, translating business needs into clear instructions and summarising advice for decision‑makers
- Owning governance and company secretarial matters, supporting Directors with statutory duties and filings
- Overseeing the contract management framework, including templates, approvals, negotiation coordination and risk oversight
- Managing regulatory and compliance frameworks in line with applicable legislation, Ofgem guidance and industry codes
- Leading internal audits, compliance reviews and accreditation activity, including ISO certifications
- Owning Health & Safety policies, practices and external certifications
- Managing data protection compliance (UK GDPR), including policies, breaches, SARs and third‑party assurance
- Coordinating disputes, claims and regulatory issues, managing external advisers and associated costs
- Promoting a strong culture of compliance, accountability and ethical behaviour across the business
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in compliance, HSEQ, legal operations, or risk within regulated sectors (energy or infrastructure preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks and governance requirements
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and external advisers
- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with excellent organisational skills
