We're partnering exclusively with one of Europe's fastest-growing clean energy platforms to appoint a Commercial Lead who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of commercial and industrial (C&I) renewable energy across Europe. Backed by one of the most influential names in the energy transition, this business has ambitious plans to deploy significant capital over the next five years, building one of Europe's leading behind-the-meter energy platforms. With an established presence across the UK and mainland Europe, they are rapidly expanding into new markets, technologies and strategic partnerships.
The Opportunity
This is not a traditional business development role. Instead, we're looking for a commercially astute leader who can identify and unlock new market opportunities, build strategic partnerships and help shape the route-to-market strategy across multiple European territories. You'll work closely with senior leadership, customers, investors and partners, helping to accelerate growth through collaboration rather than pure sales. The role combines commercial strategy, partnership development, market expansion and business development, making it ideal for someone who enjoys operating at the intersection of all four. As the business continues to diversify beyond traditional solar and battery projects into wider distributed energy solutions, you'll play a key role in influencing how new opportunities are identified, evaluated and executed.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute commercial growth strategies across European markets.
- Build and manage strategic partnerships with developers, investors, industrial customers and key market participants.
- Identify new routes to market and commercial opportunities.
- Represent the business at industry events and conferences across Europe.
- Lead commercial discussions with prospective clients and partners.
- Work cross-functionally with technical, investment and delivery teams to maximise opportunities.
- Support expansion into new technologies, products and markets within distributed energy.
- Help shape the long-term commercial direction of a rapidly scaling platform.
About You
We're looking for someone who combines commercial intelligence with entrepreneurial drive.
Your Profile
- Experience in commercial leadership, business development, partnerships or market development within renewable energy, infrastructure or the wider energy sector.
- A strong understanding of the European C&I energy landscape.
- The ability to develop trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Commercial creativity and the confidence to navigate complex opportunities.
- A self-starting mindset with resilience, pragmatism and high levels of personal accountability.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Experience working across multiple European markets would be advantageous.
- Additional European languages (Italian, Portuguese or French) are welcome but not essential.
