About the Role
I am seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Manager to oversee roof replacement and construction projects, including waterproofing. This role is crucial in ensuring that all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing site staff, coordinating daily operations, and ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weekly Updates: Provide updates to the Contracts Manager via Site Audit app; submit weekly site diaries.
- Site Security & Welfare: Maintain site security and set up/maintain welfare facilities.
- Regulatory Compliance: Display required safety information (F10, HSE law posters).
- Site Inductions: Conduct inductions, complete forms, and maintain induction registers.
- Safe Systems of Work: Ensure all personnel read and understand their safe work systems.
- Workforce Communication: Inform workforce about project impacts; discuss in meetings with Contracts Managers.
- Inspection Registers: Update inspection records for scaffolding, hoists, MEWPs, and mobile towers.
- Competence Verification: Ensure all site personnel meet competence and training standards.
- Incident Reporting: Report, record, and investigate incidents; follow company procedures.
- Emergency Measures: Maintain first aid and firefighting equipment on all sites.
- Permit to Work: Manage and control the permit-to-work process.
- Safety Tours: Conduct regular site safety tours using a checklist.
- Equipment Use: Ensure correct equipment usage and regular inspections.
- Site Cleanliness: Maintain tidy, secure work areas; apply temporary seals as needed.
- PPE Compliance: Always ensure proper PPE usage.
- Toolbox Talks: Conduct regular toolbox talks on site.
- Client Liaison: Communicate with clients to address their needs and concerns.
- Materials Management: Ensure safe and secure material storage.
- Health & Safety Control: Oversee site safety; attend monthly H&S meetings and provide regular updates on health, safety and project performance.
- First Aid Training: Ensure site managers are trained and competent in first aid.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 5-years’ experience of construction site management in roofing projects.
- NVQ Construction Management or similar qualification.
- Knowledge of various roofing & waterproofing systems.
- Building codes & regulations related to roofing.
- Full UK driving license.
