Purchasing Manager
We are proud to partner with a multi-award-winning e-commerce company based in Leeds, supplying their products to B2B clients worldwide.
As a Purchasing Manager , you will play a crucial role in developing and optimising purchasing strategies, leading a team, and driving cost efficiencies. Reporting directly to the SLT, you will oversee a team of two buyers, ensuring the procurement process aligns with the company’s growth ambitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with UK and international suppliers.
- Analyse spend and profit margins to secure cost-effective deals.
- Manage daily purchasing activities, ensuring stock availability and profitability.
- Forecast demand and mitigate risks to optimise procurement.
- Track and report key purchasing metrics, driving improvements where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations.
- Lead stock management and optimisation initiatives.
- Enhance purchasing systems and processes for greater efficiency.
- Conduct weekly purchasing meetings to review KPIs and team performance.
- Provide leadership and development for the purchasing team.
- Maintain supplier performance standards and oversee contract negotiations.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a purchasing role.
- Purchasing qualification (Degree, CIPS, or equivalent) desirable.
- Strong knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
- Experience with Sage 200 software is desirable.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Highly organised with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders and third parties.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience in team management.
