We are looking for a skilled Taxi Licensing Service Support Officer to become part of our dynamic Regulatory Services team. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in taxi licensing or regulatory administration, offering a chance to contribute significantly to the processing of Hackney Carriage, Private Hire Vehicle, Driver, and Operator licenses. Your expertise will ensure that licensing applications are handled promptly, accurately, and in accordance with current laws and council guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle applications for Hackney Carriage, Private Hire Vehicle, Driver, and Operator licenses.
  • Offer advice and support to drivers, operators, license applicants, and the public.
  • Verify licensing applications and accompanying documents.
  • Keep precise records within licensing databases.
  • Generate and distribute licenses within set timeframes.
  • Coordinate with enforcement officers, external agencies, and internal departments.
  • Ensure adherence to taxi licensing laws, council policies, and procedures.
  • Address customer inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement efforts within the licensing service.
  • Assist in managing case management systems and licensing records.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience in Taxi Licensing Administration or a similar regulatory environment.
  • Familiarity with taxi licensing laws and procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using case management systems and Microsoft Office 365.
