The Role

As an Audit Assistant Manager, you will take responsibility for managing your own portfolio of audit clients while supporting a Senior Manager and Partners on larger and more complex assignments. This position would suit someone who is already managing a portfolio of audit clients or an experienced Audit Senior looking to step into their first management role.

  • Managing a portfolio of audit clients across a variety of sectors
  • Planning, leading and reviewing audit assignments from start to completion
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the audit process
  • Reviewing audit files and financial statements prepared by junior team members
  • Managing budgets, deadlines and workflow across your portfolio
  • Building strong client relationships and identifying opportunities to add value
  • Supporting the Senior Manager and Partners with complex assignments and advisory projects
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing Audit Seniors and trainees
  • Ensuring compliance with UK auditing and accounting standards
  • Assisting with business development activities and new client opportunities

Requirements

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will likely have:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Strong audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice
  • Experience leading audits and reviewing the work of junior staff
  • Existing portfolio management experience, or the ability and ambition to take this on
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and auditing standards
  • Excellent client relationship and communication skills
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities
  • A proactive and commercial approach to client service
