This role is employed directly by Carla Denyer MP, not the Green Party of England and Wales. Staff are paid in accordance with IPSA guidelines.

About This Role

This is an opportunity to work with Carla Denyer, the Green MP for Bristol Central. Your role will be to support her to have the maximum impact in Parliament. You will be fast thinking, able to juggle lots of competing priorities and committed to giving her the best possible support to represent her constituents. You should be someone who enjoys a busy and diverse workload, can work at pace, has outstanding organisational and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent political judgement and resilience. The role reports to the Chief of Staff and holds line management responsibility for the Executive Assistant and Policy Assistant, working closely with Carla Denyer’s other staff and staff in other Green MP offices.

Parliamentary Support

  • Manage the MP’s inbox and diary, brief her on questions and motions, and anticipate what’s needed.
  • Manage the office team with final sign-off on delegated areas such as constituent correspondence.

Research & Writing

  • Produce high-quality reports and briefings, write speeches, and lead on project work as required.

Security & Liaison

  • Handle security matters, liaise across Westminster and the constituency, and support both offices.

Working Hours

There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of normal working hours. Please note that, over the summer break, it may take longer than usual to respond to applications and queries.
