Are you the kind of finance leader who makes growth safer, faster and sharper? We are looking for a high-calibre finance specialist to join our Board and chair our Audit & Risk Committee—someone who can bring rigorous oversight, commercial clarity and calm judgement as we scale this work nationally. This isn’t "tick-box governance". It’s the work that enables scaling: strong controls, smart risk decisions, disciplined reporting, and a finance lens that helps an ambitious organisation grow without losing grip.

The task:

  • Chair the Audit & Risk Committee with pace and purpose: clear agendas, strong assurance, decisive follow-up.
  • Strengthen financial governance for scale: controls, delegation, reserves thinking, policies, reporting cadence.
  • Oversee audit and statutory accounts (and help ensure we’re SORP-compliant and audit-ready as we grow).
  • Build a practical risk framework that supports growth (not one that slows it): identify, prioritise, mitigate, monitor.
  • Support strategic decision-making: challenge assumptions, stress-test plans, and keep the organisation focused on what matters.
  • Be a trusted partner to the CEO and leadership team—bringing perspective, confidence and constructive challenge.

Who this is for:

  • A CFO with scale-up or multi-site growth experience.
  • A partner/leader from audit, advisory, risk, or restructuring who understands governance at pace.
  • A PE/VC portfolio finance operator or senior finance leader who has seen what "good" looks like in high-growth environments.
  • A senior leader from banking/investment management/hedge funds with deep risk discipline and strong governance instincts.

You don’t need charity experience. You do need the judgement to bring high standards without creating drag.

What you’ll be part of scaling (and why it works):

  • 6,500+ young people engaged every week in London.
  • 2,300+ girls weekly - the largest charitable provider of girls' football in the UK.
  • A low-cost, preventative model that improves health, wellbeing, belonging, and life chances.
  • Deep local roots, strong evidence, and serious momentum.

Football is the hook. Belonging and opportunity are the outcome.

Why now? We have momentum, a strong CEO and team, and the ambition to take what works to national scale. This role is about making sure the foundations—financial, risk and governance—are strong enough to grow quickly and sustainably. If this sounds like the kind of challenge you’d enjoy, we’d welcome a confidential conversation about what the role involves and the impact your leadership could unlock.
