About Green Nation

Green Nation has spent the past fifteen years developing and managing renewable energy assets across the UK, including seven solar farms, hundreds of rooftop solar installations and two large battery storage sites. Our core focus is the development and asset management of solar and storage technologies. We now manage a diverse and expanding portfolio comprising eighty‑three ground mount solar, four wind farms, one hydro installation and several hundred rooftop systems, ensuring each site delivers maximum generation year on year. As we continue to grow, we are actively developing new sites, acquiring operational assets, and expanding our interests beyond the UK.

The Role

We are seeking a technically strong, practically minded Asset Manager with demonstrable operational, site-based and project management experience. A solid understanding of health and safety requirements for ground‑mount solar alongside commercial awareness is highly desirable. The role primarily focuses on ground‑mount solar, although may require some involvement in commercial rooftop systems or other renewable technologies. You will be responsible for ensuring that all assets perform to the highest possible standard through:

  • detailed analysis of performance data
  • hands‑on management of technical and O&M contractors
  • proactive identification and implementation of site improvements
  • applying the latest technical solutions emerging in the solar sector

This is a varied and fast‑paced role requiring the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines. The position is client‑facing, responsibility for reporting key performance indicators and managing a wide range of contractual obligations, including environmental management plans, grid compliance and oversight of site health and safety, supported by our H&S Consultant. There is a requirement to carry out regular site visits.

Person Specification

Experience Required:

  • Assessing technical and performance information and taking appropriate action
  • Managing multiple projects under time pressure
  • Effective problem‑solving and maintaining composure in challenging situations
  • Taking ownership of issues and driving them to resolution
  • Working directly with contractors, engineers or site teams in an operational environment

Personal Attributes:

  • Confident, energetic and self‑starting
  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, flexible and approachable
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
  • Willing to take ownership of processes and suggest improvements
  • Knowledgeable about the renewable energy market

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Hands‑on operational experience in renewable energy, ideally solar
  • Strong technical understanding of solar PV systems, including design, components and performance drivers
  • Ability to interpret technical data, SCADA outputs and design drawings
  • Experience managing operational processes and contractors
  • Good understanding of solar contracts (O&M, PPA, land, grid)
  • Strong IT and data analysis skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car

Desirable Experience and Skills

  • Degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline
  • Strong understanding of electrical and engineering principles
  • On‑site experience during construction or operational phases of ground‑mount or rooftop solar
  • Familiarity with H&S legislation and CDM requirements for solar sites

Remuneration
