Position Summary

The Web Engineer (Growth) owns delivery of conversion optimisation and customer experience improvements within the Booking App. This role focuses on server-rendered PHP applications with Vue components and works closely with the CPO to rapidly test, measure, and ship CRO initiatives.

Essential Criteria

  • Strong PHP and Laravel experience
  • Experience with server-rendered web applications (Blade templates)
  • Vue.js experience for building interactive components
  • Experience implementing and validating analytics (GA4 / GTM)
  • Product- and outcome-focused mindset with a drive to measure impact

Key Responsibilities

  • CRO & Experimentation
    • Implement CRO experiments within the Booking App
    • Modify PHP controllers, services, and Blade templates
    • Build and maintain Vue components where appropriate
    • Implement and validate GA4 / GTM instrumentation for experiments
    • Ensure experiments are measurable and data is trustworthy
  • Delivery & Quality
    • Fix booking and conversion-impacting bugs
    • Improve test coverage across booking and checkout flows
    • Review Growth code and maintain delivery standards
    • Make appropriate trade-offs between speed and quality for experimentation
  • Collaboration & Leadership
    • Work closely with the CPO on hypothesis-driven delivery
    • Collaborate with Platform Engineers on required API or CMS changes
    • Provide technical input into CRO feasibility and sequencing

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in PHP and Laravel in a production environment
  • Experience working on server-rendered web applications
  • Hands-on experience with Vue.js for frontend component development
  • Demonstrable experience with GA4 and GTM analytics implementation

Technical & Professional Skills

  • PHP, Laravel, and Blade templating
  • Vue.js for interactive UI components
  • GA4 and Google Tag Manager
  • Unit and integration testing practices
  • Understanding of conversion rate optimisation principles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a CRO or growth-focused engineering team
  • Familiarity with A/B testing frameworks and statistical confidence
  • Understanding of SEO fundamentals as they relate to web engineering

Compensation & Benefits
