Overview
We are seeking a strategic and commercially driven Senior Vice President of Business Development – Europe to lead regional growth for a global CDMO. This executive will drive revenue expansion, secure long-term manufacturing partnerships, and build C-level relationships across biotech and pharmaceutical companies throughout Europe. The ideal candidate brings deep CDMO experience, a strong European industry network, and a proven track record of closing complex development and commercial manufacturing agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the European BD strategy aligned with corporate growth targets
- Originate, negotiate, and close multi-year CDMO contracts across development, clinical, and commercial manufacturing
- Build and manage a high-value pipeline across biotech, mid-sized pharma, and large pharma
- Lead executive-level client relationships and serve as sponsor for strategic accounts
- Collaborate cross-functionally with technical, regulatory, legal, and operations teams to ensure successful deal execution
- Provide market intelligence on European CDMO trends, pricing, and competitive positioning
- Lead and mentor the regional BD team
Qualifications
- 15+ years of business development experience within a CDMO/CMO environment
- Demonstrated success closing complex outsourcing agreements in biologics, sterile injectables, small molecules, or advanced therapies
- Deep understanding of GMP manufacturing, tech transfer, and the European regulatory landscape (EMA)
- Strong network across European biotech and pharma
- Proven leadership and negotiation expertise
