About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced freelance paediatrician to support a clinical trial focused on paediatric patients in the UK. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and clinical oversight of children participating in the trial while maintaining compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical expertise and oversight for the trial, ensuring the safety and well-being of paediatric participants.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including investigators, trial coordinators, and sponsors.
- Conduct medical assessments and reviews, including physical examinations and interpretation of clinical data.
- Serve as the primary medical contact for participant-related medical inquiries or adverse events.
- Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in protocol development, review, and training of site staff as needed.
- Provide guidance and support on age-appropriate consent and assent processes for participants.
- Review study-related documents, including case report forms (CRFs) and safety reports.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with a valid license to practice in the UK.
- Specialist qualification in Pediatrics (MRCPCH or equivalent).
- Experience in clinical trials or research (preferred but not essential).
- Strong understanding of pediatric care, ethics, and safeguarding protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and independently as part of a multidisciplinary team.
