- Contract Medical Writer with specialist expertise in rare diseases , ideally including
Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD) .
This is a client-facing contract role supporting a specialist programme, requiring the ability to communicate complex scientific and clinical information clearly and accurately.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and clients to develop high-quality scientific materials, presentations, and written deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop clear, accurate, and engaging scientific content for client deliverables.
- Create high-quality slide decks and presentation materials.
- Produce written reports, summaries, and other medical communications.
- Interpret and communicate complex clinical and scientific data.
- Collaborate directly with clients to understand project requirements and provide updates.
- Ensure all content is scientifically accurate and aligned with client objectives.
- Meet agreed timelines while maintaining a high standard of quality.
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrable experience as a Medical Writer.
- Strong background in rare disease medical communications.
- Experience in
Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD) is highly desirable.
- Excellent scientific writing and editing skills.
- Experience producing slide decks and written medical communications.
- Comfortable working in a client-facing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines independently.
Desirable Skills
- Advanced life sciences qualification (MSc, Ph D, Pharm D, or equivalent).
- Experience working within a medical communications agency or pharmaceutical environment.
- Knowledge of publication planning and scientific communication best practices.
- Ability to quickly interpret clinical literature and translate it into audience-appropriate materials.
- Contract Details
- Initial six-month contract (subject to confirmation).
- Part-time commitment of approximately two days per week.
