Teaching Assistant (Level 2) Maternity Cover

30 hours per week Monday to Friday 8:30 – 15:30

Band 3 points 5 to 6: £17,901 to £18,597

Fixed term until 11th April 2027 (subject to maternity employee return date)

Start date: 13th April 2026

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong candidate to support teaching and learning at Green Lane Infant School. The school seeks to appoint an exceptional individual to work in the classroom to support teachers and ensure our children achieve their full potential. You will be working primarily with the school’s Early Years children.

Candidates need to:

  • Support students at the direction of the class teacher or SLT
  • Liaise with teaching staff regarding the work set
  • Liaise with pastoral staff as necessary
  • Assist in delivering the curriculum by effectively communicating with pupils
  • Help to manage the behaviour of pupils according to the school’s behaviour policy to ensure a positive learning environment
  • Deal with any immediate problems or emergencies in accordance with the school policy and procedures
  • Create opportunities for all learners to reach their potential, irrespective of ability
  • Ensure the health, safety and welfare of pupils is maintained at all times

Experience in working with students with a variety of Special Educational Needs would be an advantage.
