About Green Home Systems (GHS): GHS was established in 2014 as a family business and has grown over the last decade to become one of Scotland’s leading whole-house retrofit installers. Headquartered in Irvine, Ayrshire and operating exclusively in Scotland, our vision is to create a zero-carbon, fuel-wealthy world. We install energy-efficient measures in commercial and domestic properties, including Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar PV, Battery Storage, EV Charge Points and all major and minor Insulation, helping our customers reduce bills, save energy and contribute to Scotland’s net-zero ambitions.

We are looking for an experienced, high-performing Sales Manager to lead our growing sales function and drive the business to the next level.

The Role: This is a player-coach role. You will lead, motivate and develop the sales team while maintaining your own active sales contribution. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will be accountable for hitting both individual and collective revenue targets, owning the performance data across the department, and building the systems and culture that allow the team to scale. You will manage a team of four Sales Consultants, two Project Coordinators and two external Sales Surveyors. You will be the connection between the commercial strategy set at director level and the day-to-day delivery. A key measurable is clean CRM hygiene and data control to ensure key decisions are backed with critical and accurate sales data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership & Team Management: Lead, manage and develop a team of four Sales Consultants, two Project Coordinators and two external Sales Surveyors. Set clear individual and team targets aligned to the company’s commercial strategy; hold team members accountable to those targets consistently and fairly. Deliver regular one-to-ones, team briefings and performance reviews to maintain motivation, identify development needs and resolve performance issues promptly. Coach consultants on call handling, lead qualification, objection management, closing technique and funding knowledge through live call monitoring and structured feedback sessions. Create a high-performance, results-driven culture where accountability and ambition are the norm.
  • Data, KPIs & Reporting: Own the department’s performance data: daily, weekly and monthly KPI tracking across outbound activity, appointments set, pipeline value, conversion rates and revenue. Manage CRM discipline across the team, ensure CRM data is complete, clean and accurate at all times. Produce weekly pipeline and forecast reports for the Commercial Director, providing clear commentary on variances and planned actions. Use data to identify trends, performance gaps and commercial opportunities; act on these findings proactively rather than reactively.
  • Strategy & Commercial Growth: Work with the Commercial Director to deliver the company’s growth strategy into deliverable sales plans, activity targets and priorities. Identify new market opportunities, lead sources and routes to market across both commercial and domestic sectors. Provide insight and recommendations to the Commercial Director on product mix, pricing, funding positioning and market conditions. Contribute to the development of sales processes, scripts, collateral and training materials.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the surveying, compliance, planning and operations teams to ensure a smooth, professional customer journey from initial enquiry to completed installation. Manage the interface between the sales team and Project Coordinators to ensure pipeline is progressed efficiently and on time. Escalate customer, process or product issues appropriately and work collaboratively to resolve them.

The Person We’re Looking For: Demonstrable experience in a sales management role, with a track record of leading teams to hit and exceed revenue targets. A genuine player-coach, you are not someone who manages from behind a desk. You lead from the front and you sell. Experience in energy, renewables, construction or a related sector is desired; a willingness to become deeply knowledgeable about GHS’s product and funding availability is non-negotiable. Highly data-literate and comfortable owning KPIs, building reporting dashboards and making decisions based on data. Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of sales strategy, lead generation and conversion metrics. Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities across a diverse team. Full UK driving licence.

What We Offer: Competitive base salary. Highly competitive quarterly performance-related bonus structure – This is a bonus led, growth driven business. Private healthcare. Early finish on a Friday. Real influence over the shape, culture and growth of the sales function in a business with genuine ambition. Direct access to and support from the Commercial Director.

Benefits: Company pension, Health insurance.

Experience: Retrofit, Renewables, Energy Efficiency or related: 2 years (required), Sales management: 2 years (required).

Work Location: In person.
