Few hospitality roles offer the chance to create something from the very beginning. Be the Bar General Manager of Bartholomew’s at London Museum, one of London's most significant cultural openings. The doors open on 28 November in the heart of historic Smithfield, bringing together thousands of years of London's history through world class events, experiences and hospitality.
At Green and Fortune, we take pride of the connections we make through the moments and memories we create.
We are looking for a Bar General Manager who loves bringing places to life. Someone who gets genuine satisfaction from seeing familiar faces return, remembers people's names and favourite cocktails, and believes hospitality is about making every guest feel they belong.
This is far more than a bar management role. It's an opportunity to shape Bartholomew’s from day one, creating a destination that becomes part of London's daily life. A place where colleagues unwind after work, museum visitors linger over cocktails, neighbours meet for a drink and friends gather long into the evening.
Bartholomew’s is a contemporary London bar inspired by the energy of the city, and drawing its name from London’s original summer festival, Bartholomew Fair, held in Smithfield for over seven centuries.
An evolving cocktail menu will be curated by industry pioneer Mr Lyan Studio, riffing on London Museum’s seasonal events and displays. The first seasonal menu will take inspiration from the museum’s inaugural programme London Tastes, celebrating the city’s rich and vibrant food culture, and the history and stories behind it. There will be a permanent London Made cocktail menu which takes its creative cue from the grit & glitter of London’s story, past and present. Plus, a signature seasonal shandy serve and a draught London Museum lager.
Located in a prominent position on Farringdon Road on the perimeter of the museum, Bartholomew’s is set to be a lively street-side destination for after-work drinks and museum pit-stops throughout the day. The bar is designed to be welcoming and approachable, with food focussing on elevated pub classics and snacks.
We're looking for a Bar General Manager who naturally builds relationships, leads from the floor and takes pride in creating a team that genuinely enjoys looking after people. Someone who is curious about great food and drink, loves sharing the stories behind our producers and menus and understands that the smallest moments of hospitality are often the ones guests remember most.
If you're excited by the idea of creating a bar that becomes a favourite London destination, we'd love to hear from you.
