Head of Event Sales
This is a rare opportunity to lead the event catering sales for two of London’s most exciting cultural destinations at a transformational moment in their history.
As London Museum prepares to open its landmark new home this November, the Head of Event Sales will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping the future of hospitality, events, and client experience across both London Museum and London Museum Docklands.
Leading the Green & Fortune events sales team, you will drive commercial performance, inspire a small scale high‑performing team, and oversee the successful conversion, planning, and delivery of exceptional events that showcase the very best of London hospitality.
The role is responsible for food and beverage sales, curating stories through exceptional culinary event experiences, working in partnership with the London Museum venue sales team.
This role goes far beyond traditional event catering sales.

- What you’ll be doing
- Commercial Leadership & Building the Function
- Lead the commercial event catering sales function across London Museum and London Museum Docklands, shaping standards, ways of working and commercial performance at a pivotal stage of growth.
- Drive revenue and profitability targets through strong sales leadership, strategic F&B upselling, yield management and commercially creative event solutions.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key clients, partners, suppliers and stakeholders, helping establish long‑term growth and repeat business.
- Work closely with the Venue Sales Director and wider museum teams to shape strategy, identify opportunities and position the museums as market‑leading event destinations.
- Leading Relationships, Standards & Exceptional Delivery
- Provide senior oversight of event planning and delivery, ensuring exceptional guest experiences from enquiry through to flawless execution.
- Lead key client engagement activity including site visits, tastings, showcases, networking events and hospitality experiences to strengthen market presence and conversion.
- Work closely with operational teams, suppliers and museum stakeholders to establish exceptional service standards and seamless collaboration across departments.
- Act as a senior point of contact for key and high‑profile event catering inquiries, delivering a highly professional and consultative client experience.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Inspire, coach and develop a small scale high‑performing events sales team, creating a culture of accountability, ambition and excellence.
- Provide clear direction, support and hands‑on leadership to enable both individual and team success.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding and development of the growing team in partnership with People and senior leadership.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement across the commercial operation.
- Commercial Performance & Governance
- Maintain strong oversight of CRM systems, pipeline management, reporting and commercial food and beverage forecasting to support strategic decision‑making.
- Ensure contracts, event documentation and operational communication are consistently accurate and professionally managed.
- Maintain strong market awareness, identifying food and drink trends, competitor activity and new commercial opportunities.
- Ensure full compliance with company procedures, financial controls and data protection requirements.
