We have partnered with a market leading group of manufacturing companies who are now looking to recruit for an Operations Manager to join the Hampshire based operation, this is a full-time permanent opportunity.

Purpose of the Role

The Operations Manager will provide operational leadership to the manufacturing and supply chain functions whilst taking ownership of driving operational efficiency and performance across activities within supply chain, machining, logistics and the foundry, ensuring OTIF objectives are achieved. Reporting in to the General Manager, the role requires a strong manufacturing leader with a strong background and knowledge in metal manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership and direction to all operational departments driving efficiencies and consistently high manufacturing performance
  • Supporting departmental managers to help achieve their production, quality and delivery targets
  • Own operational delivery performance across Foundry, Machining and Supply Chain functions
  • Monitor Operational Performance against key metrics.
  • Lead the coordination of logistics, warehouse operations, and subcontract supply chain activities
  • Work closely with the planning function to ensure production plans are achievable and aligned with operational capacity
  • Lead operational performance through structured governance processes.
  • Ensure production performance, risks, and operational issues are escalated and addressed effectively.
  • Promote structured problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Identify and lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency, production flow and supply chain performance.
  • Support the implementation of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as reasonably required.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Education:

  • Demonstratable operational leadership experience ideally within the precision or metal manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge and experience of casting, machining, heavy engineering or metal manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing planning, logistics and supply chain coordination
  • Able to lead multi-functional engineering teams, improving operational performance
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
