Employer: Our client is a leading manufacturer supplying to customers globally. The work on site is precision manufacturing using a variety of specialist production processes.
The purpose of the Senior Quality Engineer role is to be the point of contact for customers going over technical issues and what actions have been taken to resolve them. As the Senior Quality Engineer, you will be co-ordinating and leading activities with a cross functional team to deliver and sustain improvements to both direct and indirect processes within the organisation.
Quality Engineer background needed:
- Previous experience as a Quality Engineer, Senior Quality Engineer or Quality Team Leader who has worked within precision manufacturing of metals and lead/managed the quality department including workload distribution.
- Be able to own and lead activities/Kaizen events with cross functional teams.
- Strong working knowledge of key engineering tools, industry gateways and metrics such as: SQDCP, APQP/PPAP, MSA, PPS/8D, PFMEA, SPC.
Key Tasks and Personal background needed:
- Liaise with key customers to resolve any identified issues.
- Work with unit leaders to develop internal processes/procedures.
- Lead 8D improvement activities with cross functional teams.
- Leading cross functional 8D projects to ensure that feedback is obtained from staff with the most relevant experience. This will involve the use of a coaching style approach.
- Auditing experience (Perform internal/external audits).
- Define key improvement activities to improve the company's quality performance (using appropriate data to identify the key issues affecting quality performance i.e scrap/attrition/rework/OTD).
- Lead improvement activities/Kaizen events with cross functional teams.
Benefits / Other:
- Holidays - 25 days holiday plus banks (The company elects to be closed for normal business over the Christmas period a total of 6 days of which 3 are from normal holiday entitlement and 3 are from statutory entitlement).
- Pension - 5%-3%.
- Life Assurance - You will be covered by Company's Life Assurance benefits. The scheme provides for a lumpsum benefit payable on death in service equivalent to 2x pensionable salary.
