Commercial Operations Manager

Southampton

£50,000–£60,000 + Benefits

Hours: 8:30–5:30 (1 hour unpaid lunch)

Holiday: 28 days including bank holidays

A growing manufacturing business is seeking a Commercial Operations Manager to lead all commercial, administrative and back‑office functions. This role sits at the heart of the operation — driving efficiency, improving processes, strengthening compliance and supporting long‑term commercial growth.

You’ll work closely with the Manufacturing Operations Manager to ensure the business runs smoothly from enquiry to delivery, while building a stronger sales function and enhancing customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead sales, customer service and back‑office teams

Drive commercial planning, forecasting and reporting

Recruit, train and mentor the sales team

Oversee BRCGS Food Contact Packaging compliance

Manage Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations

Support H&S systems alongside operations

Improve internal workflows and commercial processes

Strengthen customer relationships and order management

What You’ll Bring:

Strong commercial operations or sales operations leadership

Background in manufacturing, packaging, plastics or FMCG

Knowledge of BRCGS Food Contact Packaging accreditation

Understanding of EPR and compliance requirements

Ability to streamline processes and drive commercial performance

Confident leadership across multi‑disciplinary teams
