HR Manager
Location: Stevenage (Hybrid with travel across the Home Counties and London)
Our client is a growing provider within the care and SEND sector, with a strong reputation for delivering outstanding services to individuals and families. As part of their exciting scale-up journey, they are seeking an experienced and aspirational HR Manager to build and shape the people function, ensuring that both staff and service users remain at the heart of everything they do.
This role would suit an established HR Manager seeking a fresh challenge or an ambitious HR Advisor ready to step up into their first management role.
The Role
- Partner with the Senior Leadership Team to deliver a people strategy that supports growth, quality, and retention.
- Lead a small internal HR team, balancing day-to-day transactional HR with key projects and strategic initiatives.
- Work closely with an external HR consultant to drive people-related strategy and organisational development.
- Ensure HR policies, processes, and practices align with industry standards and best practice.
- Develop initiatives to enhance employee engagement, wellbeing, and retention, creating a workplace where people can thrive.
- Support compliance in line with the care and SEND regulatory environment.
About You
- CIPD qualified (Level 5 or above).
- HR management experience within a regulated or people-focused environment. Experience in care, education, or SEND is advantageous, though transferable experience from other industries will be considered.
- Confident leading and developing a small team, with the ability to roll your sleeves up in a hands-on environment.
- Strong relationship builder with senior stakeholders, frontline staff, and external partners.
- Commercially aware, with the drive to help scale a growing organisation.
- Passionate about people and service quality, with a customer-service mindset.
