Electrical Facilities Electrical Engineer / Plant Engineer Exeter £50-£55k + bonus Day shift Matched Pension scheme up to 10% Full-Time, Permanent Purpose of the Role To provide electrical and plant engineering expertise across the site, leading and supporting capital projects, equipment improvements, infrastructure upgrades, and reliability initiatives. The role ensures that manufacturing equipment, building services, and electrical systems meet current and future operational needs while maintaining compliance, safety, and performance standards. Key Responsibilities Project & Engineering Delivery * Identify, specify, source, and purchase machinery, equipment, and components. * Lead and support capital projects, equipment installations, machine rearrangements, and infrastructure modifications. * Develop project plans, schedules, and documentation to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and in line with H&S requirements. * Supervise contractors and external partners, ensuring safe working practices and compliance with company standards. Electrical & Facilities Engineering * Carry out electrical and plant engineering activities across the site, including building services, electrical infrastructure, and manufacturing equipment. * Provide technical expertise in fault finding, data analysis, and equipment performance improvement. * Support Maintenance teams with complex electrical diagnostics and root cause investigations. * Implement reliability excellence (REX) initiatives on critical equipment to reduce downtime and recurring faults. * Create and maintain technical files, documentation, and compliance records for new and existing equipment. Continuous Improvement & Cost Reduction * Identify and deliver cost reduction, method improvement, and equipment optimisation opportunities. * Analyse OEE and equipment performance data to drive improvements in asset utilisation and availability. * Recommend and implement engineering solutions to enhance reliability, safety, and operational efficiency. Procurement & Administration * Raise purchase requisitions, manage receipts, and track spend for engineering and improvement works. * Obtain quotations, evaluate suppliers, and coordinate subcontractor activities. Business Context * The role sits within the Facilities function, supporting plant engineering, maintenance, and site infrastructure. * Critical to achieving operational performance, yield, and profitability targets. * Operates in a fast‑paced environment where rapid problem-solving and engineering discipline are essential. * Must adhere to all company compliance, safety, and quality policies.
