Overview
Our client is a Somerset‑based precision manufacturer of low‑volume components that operates within a range of highly regulated sectors. As part of a streamlined growth strategy, they are hiring an Engineering Sales Estimator to join their sales operations team.
Key candidate background needed
- Experience within precision engineering/manufacturing
- Able to read, understand and interpret technical engineering drawings
- Strong analytical and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
- Ability to work independently
- Any previous experience within engineering sales estimation is highly advantageous (although not essential)
Position accountabilities
- Preparing customer quotations with the support of key specifications and technical drawings
- Liaising closely with customers, estimating production times, and involving subcontractors where applicable
- Reviewing and responding to RFQs (request for quotation) and interpreting technical engineering drawings
- Managing and maintaining key technical documents and records
- Communicating with customers effectively by providing insights and updates on progress to maintain high customer satisfaction
- Managing stakeholder expectations (internal and external) and working with cross‑functional teams to ensure feasible, cost‑effective solutions and outcomes
