This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to take the first step in their engineering career specialising in maintenance/maintaining both mechanical and electrical manufacturing machinery. The 3-year course will lead you to achieve the Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Standard Apprenticeship at Basingstoke College of Technology. Our client will work with the college to tailor your course pathway to ensure these skills will further aid your development within our Maintenance engineering team. Throughout your apprenticeship you will be given a clear programme of support with regular check-ins, coaching and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with scheduled preventative maintenance checks on all manufacturing equipment.
  • Help diagnose and repair machinery breakdowns under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve our existing manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Assist with the implementation of new production machinery.
  • Help other members of the engineering teams with their projects and day-to-day challenges as and when required.
  • Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations and ISO standards.
  • Complete mandatory online and practical training as part of the apprenticeship.

  • Onsite parking.
  • Car maintenance scheme.
  • Generous company sick pay.
  • Profit Share Scheme – paid 6 monthly (Mar & Sept). Whilst this is based on Company profit and is therefore not guaranteed, it is designed to pay approx. 3% of salary across a year.
  • Enhanced Salary Sacrifice Pension Scheme – After 3 months service, employer pays 5% where an employee pays 3%.
  • 24 days holiday (running Jan-Dec) plus bank holidays, increasing with service. 3-4 days are to be used for the December shut down.
