An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Onboarding Lead to join a successful and growing manufacturing organisation in the Exeter area. This newly created position offers the chance to play a key role in shaping the employee journey from day one. Working closely with HR, operational leaders, trainers and supervisors, you will be responsible for delivering engaging onboarding programmes that enable new employees to integrate quickly, safely and successfully into the business.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience in training delivery, onboarding, learning & development or employee engagement within a manufacturing, industrial or operational environment.

The Role

As the Onboarding Lead, you will:

  • Deliver engaging induction and onboarding programmes for new employees.
  • Ensure all Day 1 onboarding activities are fully coordinated and prepared.
  • Monitor and assess new starter progress throughout induction and probation.
  • Work closely with departmental trainers, mentors and supervisors to support employee development.
  • Track probationary milestones and provide feedback on progress and performance.
  • Audit training records to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Identify additional support requirements and coordinate appropriate interventions.
  • Support managers with guidance, tools and best practice throughout probationary periods.
  • Drive continuous improvement of onboarding processes, materials and training programmes.
  • Assist in the development of digital and automated onboarding solutions.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, industrial or operational environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience delivering training, inductions or group-based learning sessions.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
  • The confidence to build relationships with employees and managers at all levels.
  • Experience monitoring employee development and performance during probation periods.
Desirable

Experience in onboarding, learning & development, HR or training coordination.

  • Knowledge of neurodiversity support and inclusive learning practices.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or digital training platforms.
  • Understanding of Lean, Kaizen or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Relevant HR or training qualifications.
