Our client provided specialist monitoring equipment to businesses in multiple sectors such as manufacturing sites, fast food chains and 24/7 operational facilities. Due to continued growth, they need an Installation Electrician to support their customers in Birmingham (some call out to other cities and overnight stay may occur). This role will be perfect for a Field Service Engineer/Electrician who has experience with installing equipment into commercial properties, transferrable product skill set would include metering & control systems, sensors/sensing systems, surveillance equipment, monitoring equipment etc.

Candidate background needed to apply for Installation Electrician role:

  • UK Driving Licence (required)
  • 18th Edition (required)
  • Experience working with 3 phase power
  • Happy to potentially work in confined spaces or at height
  • Inspection and testing - 2391 or 2394/5 (preferred)

Key Responsibilities for Installation Electrician:

  • Willing to support other regions around the UK which may include overnight stay
  • Maintain van stock and site readiness
  • Install, repair, and maintain metering and control systems including wiring, circuits, and fixtures in accordance with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute electrical installations and repairs accurately.
  • Inspect electrical systems, components, and equipment to identify defects, faults, or malfunctions, and diagnose issues using testing equipment and tools.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems, such as power outages, short circuits, and voltage fluctuations, and implement corrective actions to restore functionality.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks
  • Test electrical systems and components for proper operation, voltage, current, and resistance, using multimeters, voltage testers, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to customers engineers
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed, including work orders, maintenance logs, and inspection reports, documenting repairs, modifications, and upgrades.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following proper procedures for handling tools, equipment, and hazardous materials, and adhering to safety protocols at all times.
