We are supporting a commercial vehicle rental and lifecycle management multi-site company to recruit for an Operational Excellence Director. This is a highly operational role with authority to help share future ways of working to achieve a more efficient and profitable business.
The OpEx Director will partner closely with senior leadership to define priorities and convert them into clear, actionable programmes that deliver tangible results.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as a strategic advisor and business partner to SLT
- Translate long-term objectives into practical initiatives across a multi-site estate
- Identify performance gaps, structural inefficiencies, and growth opportunities
- Lead cross-functional change and improvement programmes with clear ownership and outcomes
- Shape future footprint, capacity, and investment decisions
- Provide financial and operational insight to support decision making at leadership level
- Support commercial and customer related initiatives where strategic input is required
- Ensure change initiatives align with regulatory, safety, and operational standards
Regular UK travel is required.
Candidate profile:
Our client is specifically seeking a senior leader from a multi-site operational environment within logistics, vehicle rental, or fleet management background.
What you will bring:
- Experience operating as a strategic partner to senior leadership in an operationally complex business
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to assess impact and prioritise effectively
- Experience leading cross-functional change or transformation programmes
- An understanding of large-scale, multi-site service or asset-based operations
- The credibility to challenge constructively and influence without direct line authority
- A data-led, outcome-focused approach and strong communication skills
