At Green Flag, part of the evolving Direct Line family, we're growing our breakdown services and putting our people at the heart of it. When someone's car lets them down, you step in as the hero of the moment - getting them moving again and taking the stress out of an unexpected situation. This is a permanent, field-based role where you start and finish your day from home. You'll work 40 hours across four days a week, on shifts between 7am-8pm, Monday to Sunday. Overtime is available - entirely your choice.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults roadside
  • Carry out tyre repairs/changes
  • Test, fit and replace batteries
  • Assist customers who have run out of fuel
  • Provide reassurance and clear explanations
  • Get vehicles moving wherever possible
  • Operate a fully kitted‑out Green Flag vehicle and tools safely and effectively
  • Work across the area: Bristol, Bath, Weston-super-Mare, Yeovil, Frome, Warminster, Trowbridge, Wincanton, Shepton Mallet, Glastonbury

Qualifications

  • Full UK Category B driving licence and age 21+ (insurance requirement)
  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) or similar accreditation in light vehicle maintenance preferred but not essential
  • Solid experience in the motor repair industry with strong diagnostic skills
  • Commitment to safe working practices and up‑to‑date repair techniques
  • Confident working independently with a calm, empathetic approach to customers
  • Experience working alone in the field desirable but not essential – we will support you
