Weβre working with a world-leading engineering organisation at the forefront of energy and transport electrification. Known for delivering advanced power systems across rail, marine, defence, and renewable energy, they are driving the global transition to cleaner, more efficient infrastructure.
Their rail division is growing, and they are looking for a Power Systems Engineer to become the go-to expert in railway electrification. In this role, youβll provide technical leadership on large-scale, multi-megawatt projects, ensuring rail networks are electrified to the highest standards of performance, compliance, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the subject matter expert for railway electrification, grid integration, and EMC/power quality
- Lead the design, modelling, and analysis of complex power systems and protection schemes
- Provide technical direction from early bid stages through to delivery and validation
- Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing teams, and external stakeholders across the full project lifecycle
- Represent the business in technical forums and with major industry partners
Your Background:
- Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering
- Proven experience in railway power systems, grid connection, and EMC/power quality
- Strong knowledge of power electronics and converter-based solutions
- Hands-on experience with modelling tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, ETAP, or DigSilent
- Background working on UK rail or other regulated infrastructure projects
