We are currently looking for an experienced Power Systems Modelling Engineer to join a highly advanced engineering programme supporting complex naval and critical infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging, cutting-edge power and energy systems, supporting the development of safe, compliant, and high-performance electrical solutions within the maritime and defence sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical delivery of power systems modelling and simulation activities
- Develop system-level electrical designs and integration solutions
- Carry out modelling, analysis, and simulation using tools such as Matlab, Simulink, ETAP, PSCAD, and DIgSILENT
- Produce equipment specifications and functional design documentation
- Ensure designs comply with international standards, safety regulations, and class society requirements
- Provide technical leadership across design reviews and project delivery activities
- Support commissioning, commercial, and site teams with specialist technical guidance
- Assist with project planning, technical forecasting, and delivery management
Required Experience:
- Strong background in Power Systems Engineering and electrical system integration
- Experience with Power Electronic Converter systems
- Working knowledge of Generator Management Systems and/or Power Management Systems
- Proven experience using industry-standard power systems modelling tools
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Eligible to obtain UK SC Security Clearance
