GE Vernova Offshore Wind is seeking an experienced SOV Commissioning Manager to support offshore commissioning activities on the Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm, the world’s largest offshore wind project. The role is offshore-based and embedded onboard a Service Operation Vessel (SOV), with full responsibility for the execution and coordination of offshore commissioning activities, including energisation readiness, test & run, and handover between offshore rotations. This is a hands-on commissioning leadership role, not a client representative or inspection position.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all offshore commissioning activities within SOV scope
- Execute and support electrical and HV commissioning, including energisation and test & run preparation
- Coordinate daily activities with installation teams, associated works contractors and marine operations
- Prepare and issue daily offshore progress reports and look-ahead plans (3 & 7 day)
- Provide direct leadership to offshore commissioning teams and ensure effective handovers between rotations
- Ensure commissioning activities are delivered in line with GE Vernova commissioning strategy, quality standards and EHS requirements
- Support commissioning documentation, test plans, checklists and turnover to operations
- Act as the offshore focal point for commissioning coordination and issue escalation
Required Experience
- Proven experience in offshore commissioning leadership roles
- Strong background in electrical and high-voltage (HV) systems commissioning
- Experience supporting or leading energisation and test & run activities offshore
- Previous offshore wind, offshore power or complex offshore energy project experience
- Comfortable working offshore on rotation and leading teams onboard vessels
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
- HV commissioning experience (SAP experience advantageous)
- Strong understanding of offshore EHS and quality processes
