We are currently working with a leading engineering organisation seeking an experienced Power Systems Commissioning Engineer to support commissioning and maintenance activities within a high-spec power and marine test facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-commissioning and commissioning of HV/LV electrical systems and facility infrastructure
- Carrying out switching operations, permits to work, and sanctions to test
- Installation, testing, and commissioning of switchgear, transformers, generators, motors, UPS systems, VSDs, and associated cabling
- Commissioning of protection schemes including primary/secondary injection, digital relays, and AVRs
- PLC/PC-based power management and protection system commissioning, including fault finding and software configuration
- Producing as-commissioned documentation to required quality and safety standards
- Ongoing maintenance of electrical infrastructure supporting test programmes
Requirements
- Degree or HNC in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- Proven site-based commissioning experience
- Strong HV/LV power systems background
- Familiarity with IEC standards; marine or classification society experience beneficial
- Good communication skills and strong safety awareness
