Green Corridor is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable team member to support young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and learning disabilities. The role focuses on helping learners build confidence, independence, and employability skills through tailored support and meaningful opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with learners and their families to identify interests
- Supporting access to work or volunteering placements
- Helping develop essential life skills such as travel training and everyday independence
Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the Role:
- Identify, visit and assess appropriateness of potential work placements
- Source new work experience/volunteering roles in the surrounding areas
- Plan offsite and onsite work experience and placements
- Monitor and evaluate progress of learners whilst on work placements or travel training; set targets for learners whilst on work experience
- Manage records and documentation, such as rotas, spreadsheets, risk assessments, and update weekly
- Ensure ILPs are updated regularly
- Support Destination Lead with in-house events and attend career fairs
- Liaise with parents, learners and local organisations to arrange appropriate work placements
- Help and assist learners with travel training and document their journey (which will include early starts and late finishing – time back will be given)
- Help learners with road safety
- Cover and assist in classroom activities as may be required
- Go out on trips with learners
- Take groups of learners on work experience
Qualifications & Experience - Essential:
- Experience working with people with SEN
- GCSE 4 or above, or equivalent in English and Maths or working towards
- Clean driving record with use of car/motorbike and business insurance
- Ability to work without supervision
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- IT literate: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to obtain enhanced DBS clearance for both Child and Adult workforce
Desirable:
- Ability/willingness to drive the minibus
