Green Code Architects is recruiting for a Project Architect / Team Lead (Part 3, ARB registered) and an experienced Part 2 Architectural Designer to join our London studio. This is an opportunity for design-driven individuals to contribute to residential and commercial projects across London and the UK, working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Please note: our London studio has relocated to North West London (NW2 area) from January 2026. This is a non-hybrid position, therefore being able to travel to the office is key.
Our London team leads the design and delivery of a broad range of projects β from private homes to multi-unit developments β with a strong focus on quality, clarity, and buildability. We offer exposure to all RIBA work stages and welcome candidates who are confident taking responsibility, communicating with clients, and contributing to a growing practice.
About the Role
You will work directly with clients, consultants, contractors, and the internal team to take projects from early design through to construction. For the Project Architect / Team Lead role, you will also take on team leadership responsibilities, including the supervision and support of Architectural Assistants / Part 2 team members, and close coordination with our Colombo-based team in Sri Lanka. Ideal candidates will be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing their time across multiple live projects β while maintaining high standards of design and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead or contribute to projects across all RIBA stages (Team Lead role)
- Supervise and support a team of Architectural Assistants / Part 2 Architectural Designers: task planning, mentoring, and quality checking
- Help nurture junior team members through constructive feedback and day-to-day guidance
- Prepare and oversee design drawings, planning submissions, and construction documentation
- Engage with clients to understand requirements, manage feedback, and present proposals clearly
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and the internal team to deliver coordinated, buildable packages
- Maintain compliance with UK Building Regulations and relevant planning policy
- Present work clearly and confidently in meetings
- Collaborate closely with our Sri Lanka team, sharing responsibility across design and technical stages for UK-based projects and ensuring coordination, consistency, and deadlines are met
Requirements
- Minimum 3 yearsβ experience in UK-based architectural practice as an ARB registered Architect (or equivalent UK project delivery experience)
- Project Architect / Team Lead role: Part 3 qualified and ARB registered (required)
- Part 2 role: strong Part 2 Architectural Designer candidates welcome
- Strong understanding of RIBA work stages, planning processes, and UK Building Regulations
- Excellent design and technical skills, with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and presentation abilities (written and verbal)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office, plus one of SketchUp / Rhino / Revit
- Ability to manage deadlines and work both independently and collaboratively
- Familiarity with London borough planning policies is a plus
