Green Code Architects is recruiting for a Project Architect / Team Lead (Part 3, ARB registered) and an experienced Part 2 Architectural Designer to join our London studio. This is an opportunity for design-driven individuals to contribute to residential and commercial projects across London and the UK, working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Please note: our London studio has relocated to North West London (NW2 area) from January 2026. This is a non-hybrid position, therefore being able to travel to the office is key.

Our London team leads the design and delivery of a broad range of projects β€” from private homes to multi-unit developments β€” with a strong focus on quality, clarity, and buildability. We offer exposure to all RIBA work stages and welcome candidates who are confident taking responsibility, communicating with clients, and contributing to a growing practice.

About the Role

You will work directly with clients, consultants, contractors, and the internal team to take projects from early design through to construction. For the Project Architect / Team Lead role, you will also take on team leadership responsibilities, including the supervision and support of Architectural Assistants / Part 2 team members, and close coordination with our Colombo-based team in Sri Lanka. Ideal candidates will be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing their time across multiple live projects β€” while maintaining high standards of design and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to projects across all RIBA stages (Team Lead role)
  • Supervise and support a team of Architectural Assistants / Part 2 Architectural Designers: task planning, mentoring, and quality checking
  • Help nurture junior team members through constructive feedback and day-to-day guidance
  • Prepare and oversee design drawings, planning submissions, and construction documentation
  • Engage with clients to understand requirements, manage feedback, and present proposals clearly
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and the internal team to deliver coordinated, buildable packages
  • Maintain compliance with UK Building Regulations and relevant planning policy
  • Present work clearly and confidently in meetings
  • Collaborate closely with our Sri Lanka team, sharing responsibility across design and technical stages for UK-based projects and ensuring coordination, consistency, and deadlines are met

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in UK-based architectural practice as an ARB registered Architect (or equivalent UK project delivery experience)
  • Project Architect / Team Lead role: Part 3 qualified and ARB registered (required)
  • Part 2 role: strong Part 2 Architectural Designer candidates welcome
  • Strong understanding of RIBA work stages, planning processes, and UK Building Regulations
  • Excellent design and technical skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office, plus one of SketchUp / Rhino / Revit
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work both independently and collaboratively
  • Familiarity with London borough planning policies is a plus

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary (commensurate with experience)
  • High level of responsibility and autonomy, with support from senior staff
  • Opportunity to work on a variety of projects across London and the UK
  • Annual bonus scheme
  • Regular CPD sessions and ongoing professional development
  • Studio-based, collaborative working environment with a diverse team
  • Networking and social events
  • Supportive team culture and mentorship from senior staff
  • Overseas trips
  • Loyalty recognition programme β€” rewarding long-term commitment through additional benefits

What to Expect When You Start

  • Introduction to live projects and internal workflows
  • Early responsibility on design and technical packages
  • Client-facing opportunities from the outset (role-dependent)
  • Involvement in design reviews and studio-wide development discussions
  • Clear structure for coordination with our Sri Lanka studio
